Thank you.
Simple. Profound. Sometimes inadequate. Often underused.
It should be one of the easiest things in the world, saying thank you to people who help us. Yet, we often forget. Maybe we take too many things for granted. Perhaps we are too busy. Possibly, we are just too self-absorbed.
But then there are those moments when you remember and long overdue appreciation finally comes.
This is one of those moments.
This school year has been tough. (And looks like it will be tough for quite some time). Yet, we are still in school. Kids are still learning and growing. Teachers are still pursuing their calling. And CLA is still fulfilling her glorious mission.
None of these things can happen, however, without some special people serving behind the scenes. Ironically, they are also the people serving on the front lines.
As a school we are blessed to have a good number of people who serve the Lord in healthcare. These people have been fighting the pandemic day in and day out for over a year. Even though they are tired, stressed, busy, and always underappreciated, they always take my calls. They give wise advice and demonstrate for me what it means to serve a calling rather than simply doing a job.
They take care of us, serve us, and ease our fears. Honestly, we would not be in school without them. More precisely, countless people in our area would not be alive without them.
So, thank you. Thank you to the doctors and nurses who serves. Thank you to the office staff who make our appointments and talk to insurance companies on our behalf. Thank you to the families of the wonderful people who have sacrificed countless hours of family time so that others can have a shot at family time.
We don’t say it enough, but we appreciate you and thank God for you.
